Newnan’s Largest Lessener 3

I don’t want to get sued by any major networks.
So there is a group of men in the Atlanta suburb of Newnan.  They are mostly white, mostly well out of high school and all are quite fat.  I am one of these men.
We began a challenge Feb 9th, 2012, a contest if you will.  Each of the seven is putting up $50.00 and in sixteen weeks (on or about May 31st) the one who’s lost the largest percentage of weight will take home $350.00 dollars.  Technically its three hundred since the total prize includes their fifty dollar entry.
The starting weigh-ins were huge and there will be no information of a specific nature given for the other participants in this blog.  However I will tell you that as a group the total weight in pounds was 2,146.20 lbs.  That is more than a ton of human fat-assness.
Other than weight I am checking my measurements again so here are the running stats:

Look at that blood pressure for the second week in a row!
Pulling out the note from the doctor 140/90 is good, 130/85 is better and under that is great.  So I am happy with the good to better run I’ve been on and a little disappointed that the salt drop in my diet could be a great boon to these numbers.
The change in weight for the week was -4.60 pounds.  The cleanse is over and it wasn’t that bad.  Mostly I can add in a little bit of whole wheat and grains and a little bit of items with sugar but not corn syrup or high carbs so it’s still going well.  The main issue is that food is expensive and luckily we live in a time when you can still get a variety of foods in the dead of winter, but when I got super excited about a sale on strawberries and seeing a discount on fresh asparagus well it was embarrassing.  Hummus is growing on me, natural peanut butter is just fine, Nutella is more a cheat than not but I still have a teaspoon or so on a salt free rice cake every time I feel the need for chocolate.  Also it’s a vitamin regimen and includes energy drinks and breakfast shakes and all of that is expensive too.
In America, being thin is cheap, getting fat is cheap, going from fat to thin is expensive.
“Going to check on the gym near my house on Saturday and get a personal trainer to push me forward on a better exercise plan.”  This is still a plan, but it’s a vacation week for the schools and the place looks packed so I was afraid to go there.  I do need to develop a 30-45 minutes a day three to four times a week program.
The target is -50 lbs for the end of May and I have 33 to go.  That’s only three months so it would be just over 13 pounds a month and 3 pounds a week.  Tough but fair and unlike the TV show I won’t have anyone yelling at me and forcing me to exercise so it will require a great deal of self-disciple.
16 days into it and going strong, but it might take 20% to win the contest, so I might need to add to the target, or is it subtract?
The nice thing with the Lent event is the drop in pricing in fish and related dishes all over town, still mostly eating at home and steaming vegetables.
I’m still screwed.  (Man, I want a pizza and ice cream so bad.)  Not really.
