I’ll take my chances with the title from now on, so here we
go.
You can go back to see the whole set-up, the summary is 7
people, over 2,100 lbs, and 4 months to see who drops the highest percentage.
So letting the cat out of the bag I have been doing the
AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge, http://www.advocare.com/.
At its heart the program is a no sugar, no flour, low carb
approach that adds all the vitamins you’d expect and some energy/metabolism
boosting beverages. The first ten days
were a cleansing phase with less opportunities to eat whole grains and simple
sugar items followed by fourteen days on the common meal plan. Those measurements on 02/09/2012 were the
base line starting numbers for me and the final numbers will be posted on a
super-special Sunday blog.
For the week it was a -2.20 pounds drop and more importantly
a milestone measure of below three hundred.
I have mini-goal milestones at every ten pounds so the next goal is 290
in the next three – four weeks. For the
contest the goal is to have a loss percentage of more than 25%. The contest was the night before this official
record (02/08/2012) and that scale had me at 330 lbs. All that to say my goal for 06/01/2012 the final
weigh-in date for the contest is 82.50 lbs.
That is crazy and assuming my scale is within 3 pounds of the official scale
means a weight of 244.50 on June 1, or another 55 lbs to go. I am assuming my scale is weighing three
pounds lighter than the official scale so 330.00 Official * .25 = 82.50, 327.00
Home – 82.50 = 244.50.
Wow, that sounds like a lot of losing to do yet. I’m one third of the way to it in just over
three weeks. I have 13-14 weeks to go,
but that is still a nearly 5 pounds a week requirement. Crap, crap and more crap.
I had a cheat day plan for Mother’s day, 11 weeks from now
or so, but now I’ll have to tie that to making the weigh-ins up to that
Sunday. Let’s make it official now
(officially passing the number of times I’ve typed official in my life in one
blog) and say if I make it under 260 by Mother’s Day it’s gonna be a full on
cheat day, and if I fail to make it then the next ten day super-cleanse starts
on that Sunday instead.
That is serious motivation.
Speaking of motivation, moving, motion and the like I am
still stubbornly not exercising enough, if at all. In order to make my challenge goals I will
have to get my ass moving, at home or the gym.
I think I really need a trainer at first because I haven’t been to a gym
in 15 years and more than 10 jumping jacks make me puke, so I don’t know that
what I might try on my own will get me where I need to go.
For the record, did I already say that?, I am looking to
burn-fat, increase my fitness level and be able to run, walk or ride a bike for
a reasonable period of time without crying too much. Also if there is anything I’ve learned from
the 24-day challenge, if I spend money on it I will stick with it. The investment principle put to use.
Five pounds a week, missed for the last two weeks, so it
will probably be an impossible mission.
And if I do make it to that cheat day, pizza for breakfast,
lunch and dinner. Word.
