Year 2 Week 13 Day 1

The mantra is One Week, One Pound.

Here's the number.

Last week was 307.2 and this week is 305.2.

So that is -2.0 lbs for the week and I did a good bit of eating this week.

That is a key factor as I decided, mostly because the euphoric lack of hunger I had at the beginning of this no longer holds and I am hungry like a mo-fo , that I will be reincorporating a regular meal plan over the next few weeks. So, cereal and protein for breakfast, almonds and raisins for snacks, salads and sandwiches for lunch, and the like for awhile to see how I do. I am still staying strong on the caffeine and high on water with Crystal Light drop-ins too.

I also got the iPod shuffle, the itty-bitty one, and I swear it weighs as much as a piece of gum so I can clip to my shirt while walking around my apartment complex or riding the stationary bike. I also made up a mix of high energy music to pump me on the road. I'll try to figure out how to post that song list on Friday. I'm always looking for recommendations for other songs to get the heart rate going.

I am going for 299.6 lbs. or better for next Monday and I doubt that works out. Now I am getting a little bit nervous that on June 15th I might not be under 300.0 lbs. That's right June 15th is the 12 month mark and the minimum number should be no more than 298.0 lbs. So two and a half months left until that day. That's like ten weeks, so I should be okay. In fact, I should still be able to get to the 289.6 lbs that is the modified goal from that top sentence in this paragraph.

Just looking forward to a return to health this week and beautiful weather that should make it impossible to not get out and walk this week. That and I really do want to enjoy some food this week and the walking is a necessary component of that plan going forward.

Well especially with these numbers for the end of the month.

Okay, in case that Difference column looks confusing it's because it the difference from the end of February to the end of March. And while I am a bit punchy with the -1.0 a week based on the previous week's number and the following through as the number maybe doesn't change. Anyways the point is that the -6.0 lbs is a month's worth of lose in four weeks.

One more week until Easter and those accursed Cadbury Crème Eggs are removed from my line of vision. If you said "Hey want to eat marshmallow covered in the colored sugar?" I'd like to believe in general that I would not, however if you shape them as adorable chicks or bunnies then I devour them by the row. This season might be worse than Halloween in that you get the feeling that Easter candy is here for a short time and then it's gone. So you have to eat it all now before they go away for a whole year. Most Halloween candy is just bite size versions of candy that is always available except maybe candy corn and those peanut butter chew things. Neither of those is particularly tasty to me so I don't miss them, but a full sized Easter bunny in Dove Chocolate (mmmmm….) just isn't on store shelves after next week.

So maybe next week I'll go to a more meals per day plan and try to incorporate some breakfast protein and lunch salads into the Monday thru Friday grind. Still trying to make better choices when eating out Friday night thru Sunday. Also still can't get into the groove of regular aerobic activity and this weather is really cutting into my making excuses.

I think I just need to take more naps.

Year 2 Week 12 Day 1

The mantra is…ehhh…I feel sick today.

Here's the numbers game.

Last week was 306.6 and this week is 307.2. Eff this shit. Man do I feel like crap and I have all weekend. Like the flu or something has descended on me. Wake up this morning feeling achy and pained after a weekend of spastic colon activity that cannot be helping me stay hydrated.

Also really hate when people describe other people as "he's fat, not like you're fat but ya know bigger." I mean I could pretend it's complimentary, but it's really not all that awesome.

Now don't get me wrong, I just typed 307.2 lbs like a minute ago, so I am not delusional about being a swimsuit model. And it's not like it's incorrect it just bugs me.

Maybe this relates to the compliments I get from my mother. She didn't have a breezy childhood or nothing but she's the one where when I brought in a test with a 96% she'd say "Oh, so you missed two." It was a weird dichotomy to grow up with as my mom was the glass is half empty and you work your whole life and if you are lucky you die broke. Then my dad was so ridiculously optimistic that he'd spend money he didn't have on the blind faith that he'd be making money hand over fist in a week, or a month, or a year or whenever. Literally, the man thought a 5' 11'' white kid who was near sighted might play college basketball or football even though my only "talent" was being bigger than anyone else.

So I didn't have a great week and I feel like I might puke or crap my pants at any minute. Other than that tis is looking like a great week.

Well, now I am really screwed since I don't feel like exercising at all and on the very stupid premise of one pound a week I am supposed to be going for 300.6 lbs this week. At least this might coincide with my not being able to hold down food this week.

Well, I'm broke too, so maybe I'll just die.

Boy, do I hate this Easter season. So much delicious candy to hide from.

Not too terrible coming out of the week of the trip. At least I didn't lose any ground from last month yet.

Beautiful weather this weekend so I really will be outside at least.

I definitely have to get back into the morning workouts. Those took a major hit last week.

Year 2 Week 11 Day 1

The mantra is…One Week, One Pound!

Here's this week number.

Last week was 310.6 and this week is 306.6.

So next week's goal is now 301.6 and I have no real hope of making this number.

The weather is rapidly improving so that might get me out to walking more this week.

The trip was a nightmarish family experience with one or two great moments. Grandma is ninety and looks fantastic. Too bad we don't actually share any genetic material so I am still looking at an over/under 61.5. The party was excellent and really well done by the grandchildren. Lots of good food and almost everyone I don't recognize after ten to twenty years was there. Had a great time.

Let's see, I ate Mama's lasagna and pizza for dinner Thursday. I ate Der Bierstube rueben and fried appetizers for dinner Friday. I ate a Key's loon omelet and vegetarian lasagna on Saturday. I ate Austrian potluck and a pound bag of M&Ms on Sunday. After weighing in on Monday I ate buffalo wings and pizza. So things are not looking great for Friday measurements on weight or BP.

Still I survived the trip and after a four day period I'll know if I caught the flu from Mom or not.

Who says she never gives me anything?

The mantra is…One Week, One Pound!

Here's this week number.

Last week was 309.6 and this week is 310.6. Do you need to know that I am not happy about this?

So next week's goal is now 303.6 and I have no real hope of making this with the trip this week.

Told ya I was going to jinx it. Whatever else I can say at least I have an extra bit of padding for the chilly days ahead.

Flying out on Thursday and won't be back until late on Monday so I might skip a week here and say my goal for two weeks from now is 302.6.

Good luck to me.

The efforts of this week are paying off. I ate some Chinese food for dinner this week that may or may not have been sodium intense. That might make up for the Blood Pressure, that or having a younger brother.

Otherwise, I am going to do a little shopping this week to find some clothes for the big trip to MN. All my stuff looks kind of too big and baggy. A good problem to have.

And it's almost Spring and I am looking forward to spending more of this summer outside. With a really nice weekend coming up I might have a little bit of a tan for the trip next week. Oh won't that just chap their hides.

Really have to buckle down this weekend, I can do all my eating back in the old hometown next week.

Think salad.

Year 2 Week 9 Day 1

The mantra is…One Week, One Pound!

Here's this week number.

Last week was 306.6 and this week is 309.6. Do you need to know that I am not happy about this.

So next week's goal is now 304.6 and I will be buttoning down as the trip is less than two weeks away.

And I need to up the working out since I have to hike through airports and the great white north.

Nothing good to report on the exercise front. I am still doing the morning work outs, but not much else. No afternoon walks or evening bike work has hit yet.

See, I did jinx it.
